#GiveLWM a campaign of hope, change and blessing.
#GiveLWM is designed to help raise funds to add the finishing touches to our newly renovated building. LWM is all about connecting people and passion to a Living God, ‘Touching Heaven, Changing Earth”. Our new building will be a place where we will gather together with purpose. We envision a place where community dialogues will take place for the betterment of Questa; a place where people can gather for prayer and healing. LWM will be a place where we will seek God for insight and inspiration to change lives, connect with God and their divine destiny. Shaping Questa one life at a time. In short, a place where God’s presence dwells.
And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
LWM is nestled in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains at approximately 7000ft. Population 1754, this former mining town was established in 1842 but was inhabited by Native American Indians much early with Spanish explorers arriving on the scene as early as 1540. Questa or ‘Cuesta’ is a Spanish term for a ridge with a gentle slope (dip) on one side and a steep slope (scarp) on the other, which describes the geographic terrain when entering this Hispanic settlement. At some point when post offices came into being, it is said that the spelling changed from Cuesta(Spanish name) to Questa (Anglo name). Here at LWM we believe that those who are on personal quest, will find the answers they need when they seek God with their whole heart. Questa is a place to seek God and find Him. To connect with destiny and move out in confidence to advance the Kingdom of God.
Jesus had Questa in mind when He gave His sermon on the mount found Mathew 5:1-16 when He said;
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven
4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
We believe that Questa is a city set on a hill. A blessed people live here. Our church building will be an instrument of God to let His light shine. To God be the glory! Great things He is doing in Questa as is Heaven!
